Wiki appeared first in the mid-1990s, where scientists and engineers used them to create, and “dynamic knowledge bases”. Wikis is known as, “A piece of server software that allows users to freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser.” Or in other terms Wiki is known as a place where information is gathered, and people can edit and re-paste their ideas to the open public. It other opinions, Wiki can be considered as an opinion or a journal like, where ideas can be re-arranged or changed. Or other ideals such as, “Open Editing” has become a part of Wiki. The Wiki is sometimes used as a presentation tool, or group collaboration. Wiki is variously described as a composition system, a discussion medium, a repository, and a mail system. Wiki provides users with both an author editor privileges. A teaching scenario can come across as a teacher see’s Wiki as the easiest and most effective Web-based collaboration tool in any instructional portfolio. This provides students with direct (immediate) access to a site’s content, which helps in group editing and other collaborative project activities. Wiki can show the evolution of thought processes as students interact with the site and its contents. Also, Wiki is not just limited to students; faculty or teachers use it as well. They use it to collaborate on projects, editing textbooks, preparing a journal article, or assembling a syllabus or reading list. Wiki is known as an element that enhances the teaching and learning experience, and will eventually work for every area of aspect of schooling.
