Blogs are a much known items, through MySpace, xanga, blogs.com, google, facebook, and much more. Blogs is also short for “web log”. It is a kind of common place where people post journals, diaries, and are kept on the internet or web. Blogs are different than other forms of web by that they are updated frequently, they include plenty of links to other sights, and maintain a personal tone. And uniquely the most popular blogs are run by conversations, like talk radio. Blogging is a mainstream journalists, they pushes the writer’s or blogger’s topic to the media or the public instantly. Blogging is not known as copyrighting either. The first known use of a blog was posted in August 1998, to a Jonathan Dube of The Charlotte Observer who published one chronicling Hurricane Bonnie. Some teaching scenarios for blogging are coming from lots of teachers, mainly inside the college walls. For example, there is a blogging teacher who believes in the power and value of connective writing. Sometimes the best ideas can come from the past, and this teacher believes that blogging can help redefine this all. The teacher thinks with blogging you can easily go back in time and see what earlier posts you have, and those posts can help you with any future posts, papers, or assignments. Connecting for attention is another reason on why this teacher chooses to blog. She thinks when students are writing for a specific audience, an online environment will keep the student writing, because there is always someone reading or paying attention to your posts.

Web search strategies are, “tool-based” made to search a specific item on the Web. Sometimes you will find these search engines under, “google, ask jeeves, yahoo, etc”. The Web search strategies or search engines have been around since 1994. These engines/strategies are made to help the human mind search for a specific idea, items, image, or text with easily as one or two words. In June of 1993, Matthew Gray created what was known as the first search engine, called, “World Wide Web Wanderer”. His initials were, “To measure the growth of the web and created this bot to count active web servers.” What do search strategies or search engines do? The search strategies or engines are known to use “spiders” to search or wander the web for information. They are programs that request pages that have to do with what you are searching for, just like regular browsers do. The search engines limit down the pages that relate to words given, the “spiders” search the many millions web pages that relate to what you are searching for. They skim them down by searching the sights for word-related topics. It’s so much easier for this, because if not you’d have to search the million of web pages for the information desired. Teachers use this for students to study topics, find related information for a paper, study notes, or anything school related. Search engines are a big part of student’s lives, because easy sites like google, or yahoo help students search for a certain school topic easily. They find their information quick, fast, and sooner than you think.

Using ideas from earlier systems, Tim Berners-Lee wrote an idea or a proposal as stated, in March 1989 that would and now is called the World Wide Web. Later, joined by an assistant named, Robert Cailliau in 1990 created the Hyper Text which allows people to search images, text, and etc. The World Wide Web was created to help people search or seek ideas, a pool of knowledge sort of. The World Wide Web is used every day for any type of subjects. But, it must be connected to the Internet for it to considerably work, and is linked by hyperlinks and URLs. Many teachers and students use the World Wide Web to access sites such as; blackboard, teacher sites, school sites and research sites. The World Wide Web, or “web” is one of the biggest assistance to human knowledge, and can be considered a necessity.
